It was a hot July day with a bit of breeze. The sun was shining, and spirits were high. Randi & Pierre-Paul's wedding day had finally arrived! I had the honor of spending the day with these two as they made their vows to each other, and it was such a sweet day. Randi's nieces stood up with her as her bridesmaids, and family and friends came quite literally from around the world to celebrate with them! Their reception was located at The Barn at Five Lakes in Detroit Lakes, and WHOA was it awesome! Guests mingled with hors d'oeuvres and drinks as the sun sank in the sky, and listened as guests of honor gave speeches on a balcony overlooking the lawn. There was so much laughter and happy tears, and it was easy to see how this village of people would be more than happy to support the bride & groom.

One of my favorite things to do is steal the couple away for a few minutes during golden hour to give them a chance to soak in the day and focus on each other for a bit. Those images always have a different feel from those earlier in the day, because the stress has melted away and the party has begun! That night was no different, and as the dusk turned to dark and the twinkly lights went up on the dance floor, Randi & Pierre-Paul slow-danced into their first evening together as husband and wife. It was such a joy to witness!
