Newborn Sessions

As a mother, it seems impossible to imagine a life without my daughters. I can still remember the first days and weeks where they came home with us. When you have a newborn who doesn’t bother with the difference between night and day, the time can pass by in a haze of diapers and coffee. One thing I am so glad I did was to have my friend come into our home to photograph our life at that moment. I can’t believe my babies were ever that small, but there’s the proof! Those images remind me of the many hours around the clock that we spent gazing into each other’s faces, entranced and so deeply in love (and exhausted, let's be honest!) I believe it’s so important to capture that special time, and I would love to help you by doing just that.
 

With in-home newborn sessions, I will work with you to schedule a time in those first weeks of your baby’s life where I will come to your home. This isn’t a studio experience, where I spend the whole time trying to get your little one to sleep and wrap them into baskets and blankets. It’s ok if they’re awake! I’m more captivated by the relationships between family members, and that’s what I focus on. The beauty of in-home sessions is that there’s less pressure to be perfect and more opportunity for your family to just be the way it normally is. And if you’ve got some older children, too? They should be involved, too! I’ll help find beautiful spots of light and will do some directing to help you feel comfortable in front of the camera, but will also give you some space to use the time as a chance to connect with and love on your new bundle of joy.
